Reimagining the Performance Management Process with Continuous Performance Management

Otsuka Pharmaceuticals was in search of a modernized performance management process when Tamara found SAP’s Continuous Performance Management product. Leadership at the company embraced the concept of the product immediately. The company embarked on a pilot of SAP’s latest performance management solution in 2016 with a long-term objective of eliminating the ranking of employees according to a prescribed curve. Continuous Performance Management offered Otsuka an opportunity to meet their unique business model which includes real-time assessments of sales staff as managers accompany team members on customer visits. But Otsuka saw bigger cost savings would be possible if continuous communication could result in a process that eliminated the meetings required for calibration.
