Challenged with its utilities and property tax management system, The City of Kitchener Corporation turned to the market to identify a partner for implementing SAP CR&B Solution. By doing so, the City embarked not only on a journey to transform its business but on one aimed at aligning its operations to its customer needs and at delivering top services to those who have chosen Kitchener as their home.Partnering with Capgemini was the result of a strong functional solution proposition combined with the cultural similarities between the two organizations, as both are centering their people capital as the strongest asset in their business. This IT initiative is the largest and most complex that the City has ever undertaken - implemented through Capgemini’s iSAP project management methodology, the transformation journey included the SAP certified pre-configured solution (UtilityPath) for the core customer service, finance, and operations of the City’s utilities business lines (Property Tax, gas – regulated and de-regulated, water, waste water, storm water and rental water heater), a unique customized solution integrated with SAP CRM and SAP ISU for the property tax service line, Multi-Channel Foundation as customer portal, Business Objects and HANA for reporting, OpenText for documents archive management.
