In this session we will overview PwC’s approach for safety and risk-based capital asset investment planning for utility companies. Hear about the strategy, approach, and SAP S/4HANA technical architecture to enhance asset management capabilities while simultaneously reducing risks and increasing safety. A key enabler of this alignment is the use of SAP’s enterprise HANA as a core data platform, integration with Esri’s utility network spatial applications, links to risk modeling platforms, and real-time asset condition data.
We will show how the data platform can be used to consolidate spatial/non-spatial asset health and monitoring data with a risk and value framework. This allows you to calculate probabilistic risk scores for assets as input to capital investment and asset maintenance planning decisions.
The approach to the session will be a combination of presentations, open discussion, use cases, idea generation, and some demonstrations of solution approaches.
Key learnings:
- How a structured approach to alignment of data to a common risk and value framework can drive data-driven investment and maintenance decisions to reduce risks of asset failures
- Leveraging the capabilities of SAP HANA and Esri ArcGIS to visualize and analyze business data and transform it into actionable information
- Approaches for integrating sources of asset information to an enterprise risk modeling platform
